Founded in 1953, Cory’s is a third-generation, family-owned company. We’ve evolved over time to offer the highest-in-quality live events, systems installation and integration, technology maintenance, and support.
Located in Automobile Alley, Cory’s began as a storefront for sales and rentals of film projectors, sound equipment, and film reels of popular cartoons and short films. As Cory’s grew, it began servicing theaters and school districts through troubleshooting and purchasing.
Cory’s Motion Picture designed and programmed custom, advanced installations with repair and troubleshooting at the heart of the business. This is where Cory’s brand of customer service and building trust through solid, reliable relationships begins.
With the boom of meetings and conventions happening in the 70’s in Oklahoma City, a large-scale rental operation emerged at Cory’s, operating heavily along Meridian Ave near the OKC airport.
The next generation saw Joseph A. Cory as the owner and CEO of Cory’s Audio Visual Services. In addition to the rental and installation services, live event production became an important part of the business. The customers Cory’s gained in this time are still our clients today.
In the 90’s, electronics took over and Cory’s became a consulting partner for large companies rather than a parts and repair shop. Technology became more complex and Cory’s expertise in custom settings grew.
Cousins Brad Poarch and John Cory purchased the company. This era saw large-scale conventions and events with more theatrical production. This era saw substantial growth and a new, energetic leadership focused on seeking new services and ways to grow with existing clients.
Cory’s faced its biggest challenge—the pandemic. In a matter of two days, events came to a halt, resulting in a large layoff. With 67% of the companies’ revenue down, Cory’s kicked into full gear with new services like streaming and health-related technology devices. The quick pivots ensured that Cory’s not only survived the tough time, but could rebuild even stronger.
Cory’s added Senior Vice President Britt Gotcher as a partner and continues the substantial growth by focusing on innovation, enterprise-level business, and the value AV gives to the clients.
Cory’s rebrands to become Cory’s Spaces, Cory’s Onsite, and Cory’s Live showcasing services in and beyond audio visual.
